Good afternoon parents and guardians, this is a friendly reminder that tomorrow, October 13, 2023, is a Professional Learning Day for school employees. This means that students will not have classes. We have also added parent-teacher conferences to the Professional Learning Day this year. If you would like to schedule a conference with a teacher, please reach out to them as soon as possible. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss your child's progress and ask any questions you may have. Thank you, and have a great day!

Ripley High School will be open on Monday, September 18, 2023. Water was restored to the building yesterday, while custodians and other support staff finished cleaning the first floor of the main building this morning. I would like to take a second to thank all the community agencies, the Jackson County Schools Maintenance Department, and other school personnel for their help over the last three days. You are greatly appreciated.
Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

Parents and Guardians,
Unfortunately, Ripley High School has a severe waterline break on the first floor of the main building. All Water is currently shut off to the school. At this time, we have no other option but to dismiss students for the remainder of the day. If your child is a walker or driver, they will be dismissed within the next fifteen minutes. If your child rides a bus, the buses should arrive at Ripley High School around 12:30 to take students home. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Thank you.

Good evening. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools. Wednesday brings much anticipation with the start of a new school year. I am so excited to see our students and employees back in our buildings as we continue to work together to become the #1 school district in our state.
We begin this school by sharing wonderful news – Jackson County Schools is now the 5th-ranked school district in WV in ELA and Math proficiency, moving up five spots from last year.
We are so fortunate to have a fantastic community of parents and guardians that understand the importance of a first-class education and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our students and schools.
As I just mentioned, our goal is to be # 1. Leading the state will not come easy. It will take hard work, determination, and perseverance from our children and the entire community to demand high expectations and excellence in our schools.
I believe in the power of public education, as well as our parents, our employees, and especially our communities. Anything is possible; we must be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish our goal.
As always, I ask for your patience on the first day of school. There are many moving parts that we will continually perfect throughout the year. Once again, thank you for your support and encouragement as we start another exciting school year. Congratulations on your work being a Top 5 school district in the state of WV.
Thank you and have a wonderful evening.
