In response to some items of interest raised in recent days, here are some frequently asked questions and local response.

 What is being done to make sure that my senior will still graduate on time?
Graduation will be held as scheduled prior. This date will not change. Once school resumes, school staff will be working closely with seniors to make sure that they have ample time and opportunity to complete the work required for graduation.

If my student is in a college class, will he/she fail?
No. Dual credit college courses are actually taught by Jackson County teachers. Once school
resumes, teachers will make adjustments to syllabi to cover all mandatory standards.

If my student is in an AP class now, how will he/she be prepared for the AP course exam?
Teachers will plan accordingly when school resumes. Options for additional support include Power Hour for Ripley High students and Smart Lunch at Ravenswood High. After school AP Tutoring sessions may also be provided. Students are encouraged to prepare for AP exams by utilizing sample questions to familiarize themselves with the testing platform.

How can my student prepare now the SAT or county testing?
Khan Academy (SATpractice.org) is a free online resource to students and parents recommended by the College Board and Jackson County Schools offering:

*free SAT practice
*video lessons
*College Board Daily Practice Question App

How will recent school closures impact my student’s application for the PROMISE Scholarship?
The Governor has instructed the Higher Education Policy Commission to extend the March 1, 2018 PROMISE deadline to March 30, 2018.
