Involvement

Parent, Family, and Community Engagement

Children develop holistically and at an individual rate. As a result, children enter school with varied levels of skill and learning experiences. These variances are further impacted by the resources children have access to prior to entering school including home, family and community supports.  Families are the first and most important teacher in their children’s lives.  It is important that families have information and resources available to them to assist them in meeting their children’s individual needs.  Parent may find the following link helpful - http://wvde.state.wv.us/oel/school-readiness.php.  Individual schools and centers can provide additional information regarding parent involvement in the child’s school.
